Rico Martinez (studio owner/with professional experience and connections) is dedicated to training students and teaching the true foundation of Hip Hop. He has been bringing in the original creators and pioneers of the dance to teach workshops and educate his students on the history and culture of Hip Hop. He is an excellent teacher and a positive role model to all of his students. Along with Hip Hop he teaches life skills using a caring team environment and makes all who take classes feel like family. Rico brings a very broad exposure to the dance world for students to choose their style and excel.
Pound It has many talented dancers who are gaining impressive success in competitions and battles around Alberta quickly. Also in Nanaimo last winter a Pound It dancer won 1st place at the B-Boy battle. Another dancer is the only Albertan to make it for the Second Stage of qualifying for the Youth Olympics 2018. She will travel to Philadelphia in October. They have also gained success at other North American events such as Step Ya Game Up in New York City where one of our dancers was the only Canadian to make it to the finals. Some of our dancers are already being recognized by event promoters. Students have performed to open for artists such as Mad Child (formerly of the Swollen Members) and for Red Deer’s own hip hop artist Merkules. Rico has brought and continues to bring a lot of public exposure at many different events in central Alberta through Pound It Hip Hop studio and his entertainment company.
All funds raised will support students who cannot afford classes, help to pay for professional dancers to train students at our studio and aid in paying for a very exciting educational opportunities.
Thank you for your time and consideration It is very much appreciated,
